Fun Meter

Sometimes while playing with Nathan he is overcome. Simply overcome. You are tossing a ball, or keeping a balloon volleyball game going or throwing beanbags and you're hit! Momma's down! He gives me a smack in the face, a poke in the eye or a kick. Yet he is still laughing and carrying on as if playing! Is this part of the game? Does his exuberance level hit overload? Is it too much of a good thing? The pleasure/pain principle? His flux capacitor? Of course there is a game over warning but, it's one more thing for this Momma to be paranoid about.

Oh-oh. That's not normal? I'm in trouble too then. :)

When Isaiah was 2.5 or 3 we were jumping around on the bed, I know you're not supposed to do that. Anyhoo he hit me in the head so hard with either a knee or elbow or something that I literally saw stars in blackness for a few seconds. I then realized my baby was a boy and I was not nearly tough enough for him. Yikes!

I'm another Four by 40 mom, and I was thinking about my 3 year-old when I read this (a girl), because she will giggle hysterically when she is hurt or tired. It's like the wiring is backward.

Mrs. Incredible-welcome! I must be incredible too, eh? :) Wired backward, I like that.

My three year old does this. He just goes into complete spas mode. I am really glad that it is just not him!
