I thought steamed carrots would make a tasty addition to supper. I had 3 words buzzing through my brain. Metal Vegetable Steamer. I don't have one, so I found the plastic strainer. Steak, baked potatoes, and carrots. Num! Something happened. It always does. Wait for it.

Hey, that's the very same sidedish I usually make..
When we were moving from Alabama back to Wisconsin, we had a last-minute showing on our house. My brother and I raced around cleaning up as best we could before they arrived. I hid two pots and a pair of plastic-handled scissors in the oven.
Moral?
Always check the oven before you pre-heat.
