Grateful for Sarah

I struggle daily to find blessing in living on one income. I long for gratitude and to believe deep in my soul that I may not have everything I want, but I do have everything I need. My daughter gave me her definition of gratitude a couple of weeks ago. Sarah and I had a date to go yard salein. Our church had a huge one and there it was. A bike. The bike. She ran to it and asked with wide eyes, "Mom, can I have this?" Oh, my heart. I said, "Of course." She positively beamed and attempted to drag her treasure through the rest of the sale. I said we should set it down and she did, only to keep her eye on it. She talked about her bike the whole time. She thanked me over and over. She loved the pink and purple and rust colors. Yes, real rust. She couldn't wait to show the fam. She pictured herself on it and told me where she would ride. She nearly flipped her lid when she saw our pastor move it. She thought he was buying her treasure!! We found out that EVERYTHING at the sale was now 1/2 price and a $3.00 dreambike was now a $1.50 dreambike. Thank you Sarah for showing Momma your heart of gratitude and that you have no sense of entitlement to material things. I am so blessed to be a SAHM!

There are few things in life more satisfying than finding that perfect treasure!
Thanks for sharing such a sweet story.

Don't you love that they don't care about the rust? I don't look forward to the age when they notice things like that.

What a bargain! I am with Erin...very sweet story. =)
