Fixed Or Not

My husband fixed the garbage disposal, vacuum, hammock and CD thingie for the computer! Good boy! The van window on the driver's side does not roll down yet. If I push the button, rumor has it the window will go bye-bye into the door with a Kachung. I headed to the bank to open my door in the drive thru and do my banking business.(Why didn't I just take two toddlers into the bank you ask? I tried that 5 years ago I answer.)I positioned the van far enough from the chute and opened my door to get the tube. I heard laughter from the teller. It is a good thing she knows me. "Yes, ha ha ha my window is broken ha ha ha. Do your job!" Her laughter prompted every other driver to turn their heads in my direction. I would have washed my hair had I known my name had been changed to Spectacle. I moved the van up to get in a better position just in case thousands of bills started flying in my direction. I removed the tube and dropped the contents and the teller yelled,"Carla your stickers are blowing away!" God forbid #3 misses out on a Power Rangers sticker. I chased every last one. I could hear tellerlaughter, so did everyone else. I got in the van. I smiled and waved at my fans. I pulled out to hear the crunch of a cement pillar as it folded in the passenger side mirror.
9:03am and I am spent.

Yep, I had a broken car window. I was totally embarrassed everytime I went through a drive through. Everyone is like what the heck is she doing..is she getting out of her car? And then I guess they realize that my window won't roll down.

YEA for your DH getting some stuff fixed!

When Megan and Mikale were little I never understood the Moms that didn't bring their toddlers places. Then....God gave me Mikkena. I am telling you she is a reality check!!! She is 5 now and I still shouldn't bring her places. Last night at Cub she picked up a double-hand full of tootsie rolls and then rubbed them all over her face allowing them to fall back into the big bin as she rubbed. Why would she do that?

My passenger side window won't roll down! It sucks. I just can't see paying to have the dealer fix it. They are robbers of sorts!

It is all a matter of perspective.

I think the window is fixed...because it doesn't slide down like it did right after the internal electric motor broke.

I knew right away I wasn't going to spend the time and money to fix the internal parts. At that point, "fixing" the window meant keeping it from sliding down.

I tried duct tape. It worked but looked trashy. So I fixed the window by putting a 2x4 inside the door.

If you hear a clunk from inside the door and the window slides down - then the window is broken.

But for now...the window IS fixed.

ahahahaha. Oh, I'm so sorry. That's hilarious (I'm not laughing AT you, I"m laughing WITH you, right?) I especially liked, "I would have washed my hair had I known my name had been changed to Spectacle." hahahaha.

By the way, you're the newest member of my brilliant blogroll. I love e-meeting new friends. Sigh. :-)

I think you should skip the publishing and go right in for a sit-com. Not that I enjoy laughing at your expense, I'm just saying.

Just an FYI--even if the window goes down in a Kerplunk, you can still dig it out if you can cram your fingers down there and wedge it back up. But that kind of hurts, so the 2x4 is probably a good idea.

Carla--you have an amazing ability to turn humiliation and angst into laughter (at least we're laughing)!

Thank you! My rule for this blog is this-I can only post when it seems funny to me. That can take days, weeks or even months. :O
