My life is a lesson in contradiction. If I offer one, the cherubs want two. Unless it's a vegetable. Today was no different.(Did I expect it to be?)Nathan went on and on about a boo boo. Oh. Ouch. I saw nothing that resembled anything. He was in dire need of a band-aid. "Nathan, would you like red or yellow? He responded, "Purple."

I think it's great that band-aids come in different colors now, although there should only be one color per box. It's inevitable that the color you had your heart set on is the one that's all used up.
The thing about this is I want to be a Dad known as one who said yes more than no. When I say yes to a request for "one" of something, then things always go bad when there has to be a "no" to the immediate request for "two". It is a trap I often get snagged in with out kidlings.
I always was one to ask, "Would you like one, or none?"
One was the inevitable answer.
