Laugh or Cry

We headed off for a playdate today. Timmers cried all the way but, it was naptime and with 2 front teeth coming in who can blame him? I was looking forward to some relaxing time talking with a good friend while our children were seen and not heard. HA! It serves me right for even thinking that! My chilluns were disrespectful, did not listen the first time, fought with each other and their playmates and did not listen the first time.(I know I already said that but it bears repeating!) One, two or three Streamers were in timeout at one point or another and then they started in again when we came home. I was about to repeat my MomHag speech when Nathan pulled a chair up to his Little Tikes table and said with a smile, "Mo coffee pweese, Mommy."

Haha. I think caffiene should be banned at your house. 13 days til school starts! Just 13 days...
: )
When I'm a mom, I fully expect you to sit back with your arms crossed and smile knowingly at me. You'll have earned it.
Until I'm a crying mess on your kitchen floor--then you should be nice to me.
I'm just sayin.

I will always be nice to you. I plan on being a wise old Mom and help out the the other trench mothers. You know, take the kids to the park, bring over hand me downs, offer sage advice(but only when asked!)and make sure the mommies get to date the daddies!

I think that sounds like a GREAT plan! We should start a round table. "Trench Mommies Round Table Discussions."
Yes?

I hear ya, Carli! It seems my home these days is a constant battleground of warring factions from the land of Total Depravity.
We trench mamas need to keep calling for backup from the One who calls us to "teach them to obey everything I've commanded you". Whew! Help us, sweet Jesus!

Yep, it's late summer. My 7 year old recently asked why I've been rolling my eyes so much lately.
