We had a female cardinal flying aimlessly in our garage last night. We opened up all exits to the front and rear of the garage and prayed. Her husband was perched nearby calling out to her. Joshua and I started thinking up what he was trying to convey to his wife.
"Honey, where are you?"
"Suppers ready. I made fried worms."
"Just fly lower and get out here."
"Hurry up, BFV is on."(Birds Funniest Videos...that was Josh)

Joey used to try to catch birds, as you've probably seen your own little ones do. His dad offered him $10 if he actually caught one (certain that he would not). One summer day we had a hummingbird stuck in the garage. Since there was a large picture window in the back of the garage (who puts a picture window in their garage?) the bird refused to fly away from it and go for a door. Joey took the opportunity to trap it in a large bucket and cage it, anticipating his reward. His dad told him that was cheating and didn't pay up. I think I might send Joey $10 today.....
We have the same crazy picture window!!!
That's not as good as the $5 bet I had with Mom over the color of my pants though. But I think that's a post for my blog....
