New Shoes
I didn't know that getting a new pair of shoes could be such a big, hairy deal. Joshua has needed a new pair of tennies for awhile. We had put it off for long enough and when I could smell them when he came in the door I knew it was time to take the plunge. Just buy some! I found a pair and told Joshua to please throw his old ones in the garbage. But the new ones did not fit. Too small. After Timothy's 3 month pictures were taken I was going to exchange for a bigger pair. Pictures took too long, store was too crowded, no shoes in Joshuas size. Did I mention that this was Easter weekend? 45 minutes before church Pat headed out to exchange the shoes. He came home with sandals. Too big. In desperation I dug the old smelly shoes out of the garbage, sprayed them with air freshener and we were church bound. Dare I keep you in suspense much longer? Mommy and her boy took the sandals back, went shoe shopping together(now theres a novel idea) and found some shoes that FIT. He asked if he could finally throw his smelly ones away and I promised I wouldn't dig them out and make him wear them.

Don't forget too Babe that Josh made me promise to (re)buy the sandals because they came with a toy that he "really needs."
Shoe shopping has to be my least favorite activity. Aren't women supposed to love this? The only time I ever loved it was when my children were little. Hannah at one time had 10 pairs of shoes--we called her mimi Imelda--and the shoes they have for little boys are soooo cute. But me and my gianty wide size 10s don't look in the cutesy spike heel section. I go right for the sneaks--men's sneaks. Yeah.
