Goals

I am a humble Mom. Humble enough to accept used clothing from friends, yard sales and thrift stores. In fact, I have not had to purchase clothing for any of my children and my oldest is 9!(There has to be a category in the Guinness Book of World Records for that!) I received a bag of clothes from a girlyfriend who told me there were some things for me at the top and the rest was for Joshua. I must have dug a little too deep as I tried to squeeze into a boys size 14 pair of shorts. I became frustrated and figured I must not be working out hard enough. I realized my error, had a good laugh and gave myself a peptalk. My goal is to comfortably wear a size 8 in womens NOT a size 14 in boys.

Oh, Karli!! You crack me up!! That's how I felt one day many moons ago(when Jeffrey and I were closer in size) and I got jeans out of the dryer (when I could actually PUT my jeans in the dryer) and put on a pair, thinking "what in the world did I eat yesterday that made my thighs so big?" LOLOL But a size 14 boys? That is a stretch! Thanks for the giggle!

A couple of years ago, I went on an eating plan (read: diet)that worked so well that I lost 60 lbs in less than five months. As I sorted through the jeans that no longer fit me, I wandered over to my husband's closet to shop. I gleefully discovered that I could wear his jeans, so I did! And my comment to him, as I modeled them, was, "Wanna know the difference between you and me? I make these look GOOD." (Taken straight from "Men In Black") I loved those jeans. >sigh<

You know, I too clothed my daughter in hand-me-downs (many from consignment shops) most of her childhood years. I see nothing wrong with this ... and in fact, she was one of the few kids in her school who never wore a "same dress as ..." to the dances.

Love the story about the jeans ... too precious!

Dear Weary Hag,
I just read your blog! Good stuff!
So, tell me, is there life after children?
