Joshua's 9th birthday is coming up and Daddy and I were trying to figure out what kind of frolicking the kids should do to celebrate. Pinata? Bowling? Swimming? Patricks specialty is obstacle courses so we settled on that. I think it might be fun to kill two birds with one stone. Rake those leaves! Lay those bricks! Plant that bush! Grab that trash! Go, kids, go!!
By combining the obstacle course with yard work, everyone wins!

What about the mud pit idea? It could serve a dual purpose. The kids would of course love it and talk about it for centuries. Furthermore, the pit area is where the pool goes as you know, the mud would losen the ground up a bit for the leveling work I need to do this year.
Just make sure to mention the idea in the disclosure to parents that we are sending out with the invitations.
This is not a good idea, Pat, and I will tell you why. A friend of mine put a mud pit in his backyard and late one night found two women in bikinis out there wrestling around. Then of course there is the inevitable drunken crowd. How will you get any sleep?
