Playtime

Sarah looked at me today and stated, "I am so bored, Mom." I can't imagine why. The TV has been blabbling away at us for 7 weeks straight. Who can deny that Elmo's laugh can grate on a 5 year olds nerves? In her desperation she looked for fun. We decided to play with MarbleWorks and set up this really cool raceway, only to find one lone marble for Nathan and Sarah to bicker over. Later, MarbleWorks. She then tried her hand at building with interlocking blocks, but as soon as the cane she was building got too long it began to bust apart. She was completely engaged in the task except for the occasional DANG IT she shouted. Goodbye, interlocking blocks. She demanded to be let outside to play. All bundled up, she set off for the great beyond only to knock on the window and mouth, "I have to go to the bathroom." Music to my ears. The girl finally made it outside and frolicked in the snow.
As for me, if it wasn't for the constant nursing, diaper changing, burping, lunchmaking and laundry...I would be bored too.
