Pumpkin Races

After a quick jaunt to Econo with the 3 Stream children we stayed outside to admire all of the pumpkins in the corral. WOW! The kids quickly scattered in opposite directions, as this outnumbered mother has come to expect. I found the Perfect Pumpkin! Round, dark orange, short brown stem....a joy to behold!! I held it up and showed the kids. As I was placing it back in the pile 3 big ones crashed to the ground and started rolling away!! I was relieved that none of them broke, but there they were...rolling straight into the parking lot! I managed to wrangle one which hadn't picked up much speed. "Joshua, Sarah help!" I yelled. They both froze like statues and gave me blank stares. "Joshua, go grab that pumpkin, its rolling away!" He ran! "Sarah, run and get the other one for Mommy!" She did! As they rolled them back to me(they were too heavy to pick up)I started laughing my head off! I was so glad none of them broke or met their demise under the wheels of a car! The kids still remind me of The Great Pumpkin Race. "Mom, do you remember that?!" Since it happened last weekend...yes, it is still a fresh memory for me.
